In collaboration with ArtMap and Documentary Monday, the Fresh Eye platform for visual culture studies brings you a fourth unique film experience telling the story of yet another leading personality that has significantly influenced contemporary (not only) visual culture.
Heather Lenz’s KUSAMA: INFINITY explores the indomitable determination of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama to become a world known artist. Kusama crossed the ocean to the United States right after the end of World War II. Without any previous contact, she decided to devote herself to her only true passion – art. However, her path towards becoming one of the most popular and most sold living women artists was lined by dramatic encounters with racial and gender discrimination as well as with the necessity to address her own mental struggles.
The film will be screened at the Big Hall of Prague’s Kino Světozor in English with English subtitles.
The film is presented in Czech premiere and will be preceded by a performance of artist VERONIKA ŠREK BROMOVÁ.
Tickets are available at the portal of Kino Světozor.
